Mechanism of Action of Telborpeptide

Apr 01, 2026 Leave a message

Telpoeptide integrates the effects of two incretins-glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)-into a single molecule. It is a weekly formulation, injected once weekly. According to the latest WHO guidelines in December 2025, GLP-1 drugs, by mimicking the mechanism of action of natural hormones in regulating appetite, blood glucose, and digestion, have been recognized as a core component of comprehensive obesity treatment programs.

Telpoeptide's core advantage lies in its dual receptor agonist action:

1. Activation of GIP receptors: Promotes insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon release, directly lowering blood glucose;

2. Activation of GLP-1 receptors: Delays gastric emptying, reduces food intake (reduces calorie absorption), and simultaneously enhances insulin sensitivity (improves glucose utilization). This mechanism makes it superior to single-target GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as smegglutinide) in lowering blood glucose (reducing HbA1c) and weight loss.
